• Ginny is basically one of the best and most underrated characters ever and this is why ok

Ginny was the youngest child and had SIX older brothers I mean who would want that, almost everything she had was second hand. And her brothers didn’t let her fly with them so she stole their brooms while they were looking the other way.

Then during her first year at school she was possessed by this diary which made her attack other students- and this diary happened to be a part of Voldemorts SOUL I mean remember how Ron reacted to wearing the locket? Ginny was eleven when this was going down. And she had a crush on (and sent a Valentine to) this famous Harry Potter boy who never looked twice at her.

She didn’t get all moony though. She went to the Yule Ball with Neville, and whilst there met Anthony, a Ravenclaw who she started dating. It was the healthy thing to do- she went on with her life and enjoyed herself. And when he turned out to be a bad loser who couldn’t stand being topped by a girl, she dumped his ass.

Furthermore, during this time, her family relocated into the Order headquarters and became estranged from their third oldest son. She joined the Qudditch team as a Seeker after Harry was kicked off the team. Then she joined Dumbledores Army, and was in fact the person who came up with the name Dumbledores Army. During this time she also stopped people bullying Luna and defended Neville when he insisted he wasn’t important. I mean that is exactly the kind of thing people should do irl.

When it was discovered that Sirius was trapped in the Ministry and Harry, Ron and Hermione intended to save him, she overruled the fact that she was ‘too young’ or otherwise inexperienced, and came with them. Furthermore she used a Bat Bogey hex on Draco and all his cronies when they tried to detain her. And I might add she got out of that fight in the Ministry in a better state than Ron and Hermione- she only had a broken ankle.

She then started dating Dean, and became the star Chaser on Qudditch the team, scoring a literally indecent number of points for Gryffindor. When Ron tired to imply Ginny was moving through boyfriends ‘too fast’ she aggressively defended her right to do what she wanted without his judgement, and pointed out his hypocrisy in the way he acted with Lavander.

Oh and remember how Ginny hexed Smith after he harassed her on the train, and ended up joining the Slug Club because Slughorn recognised how utterly bamf she was? Well Harry noticed, because suddenly the girl he never looked twice at was the girl he couldn’t stop thinking about. The tables had turned.

So then Ginny and Dean broke up, and her relationship with Harry started in a way symbolic of both of them as individuals and them as a couple: With a passionate kiss after a Qudditch match. She told everyone Harry had a ‘macho’ tattoo of a Hungarian Horntail, and that Ron had a Pigmy Puff tattooed on location unknown. Despite dating Harry, she didn’t let it overtake her life- she continued to study for her OWLS and own the Qudditch pitch. She was among those who fought against the Death Eaters the night Dumbledore died.

When Harry had to leave, she didn’t burst into tears or beg him to explain/not go/take her with him. She understood he had a job to do, that he was doing the only thing he could, that she would never stop him from doing the right thing even if it hurt them both. Oh and just for the sake of it she gave him a steamy as fuck snog in her bedroom before he left.

Whilst Harry was gone, Ginny didn’t become some weeping maiden. She, Neville and  Luna re-started Dumbledores Army, creating a safe haven for students, inspiring hope and rebellion. She also tried to steal the sword of Gryffindor. When the final battle came, she was declared ‘too young’ to fight, but ended up doing so anyway, holding her own against Bellatrix Lestrange. Holy fuck guys. Also remember that like all the other Weasleys, Ginny lost Fred because of the war. We also know she was close to Tonks. It must have sucked ass.

Furthermore we know that after school Ginny joined an all-girl professional Qudditch team BECAUSE SHE WAS FUCKING PRO. I mean wouldn’t the perfect wife for Harry be a sporty girl who happened to match him in power and bamf? She retired and ended up writing about Qudditch for the Daily Prophet, and had three (amazing) children with Harry.

So anyone that doesn’t appreciate Ginny needs to think carefully about why they don’t appreciate her. Because seriously.

I can’t deal with people who just watch the HP movies and say “ugh Ginny was so lame and boring”. Excuse you. Read the fucking books. “No personality”? Ginny Weasley is a motherfucking badass.
